The registrar of the National Examination Council NECO, Professor Godswill Obioma, is dead.
Unconfirmed reports claim he was murdered in his Minna home by some unidentified gunmen who invaded his apartment and strangled him last night, May 31. The killers allegedly left without taking any of his properties.
Another source however claims he was ill and was rushed to a hospital in Abuja where he died naturally.
The family nor NECO are yet to release a statement about his death.
An indigene of Abia state, Obioma, 67, was appointed head of NECO barely a year ago on May 14, 2020.
LIB reached out to the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, to comment on the development and he asked that we wait for NECO to release a statement.
